Privacy Policy

BisonFlex (we, us, our) sells protein and fiber baking mixes through this website. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to this site and to the emails we send.

Orders. When you buy from us, checkout runs on Shopify. Through your order we receive your name, email address, shipping address, phone number if you provide one, and the contents of your order. Payment card details are collected and processed by Shopify and its payment processors. We never receive or store your full card number.

Accounts and points. If you create an account, we store your email address, your name if you give it, and a sign-in record kept by our login provider, Clerk. We match your past and future Shopify orders to the account by email address, and we keep your order history and a running log of the points you earn, use, and have adjusted. Cookies set by the login provider keep you signed in. You can also shop without an account; you simply will not collect points.

Email list. If you join our email list, we store the email address you give us.

Support. If you email us or use the chat, we keep the messages and details you share so we can resolve your request.

Chat. The chat answers automatically. Questions you type, together with the earlier messages of the same chat, are sent to an AI service provider to generate the reply. Quick-reply buttons return prepared answers without that step. If the chat cannot match a typed question to a prepared answer, we also save the text of that question, with no name, account, or identifier attached, so we can improve the answers. Please do not type personal details into the chat.

On your device. Your cart is stored in your own browser so it is still there when you come back. It stays on your device until you clear it.

We use the information above to fulfill and ship orders, answer support requests, send order updates, send marketing email if you signed up for it, improve the site, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations like tax and accounting rules. We do not use your information for anything unrelated to running this store.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We share information only with the service providers that run this store: Shopify for checkout and payments, Clerk for account sign-in, shipping carriers to deliver your order, and the email service that sends our messages. Each provider receives only what it needs to do its job. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or as part of a sale or reorganization of the business.

Our own pages do not run advertising trackers. We use cookie-free site analytics that count page views and anonymous actions such as adding a mix to the cart; they do not collect your name, email, or anything you type. Your cart lives in your browser's local storage. Shopify checkout sets the cookies it needs to process your order securely. You can clear cookies and local storage at any time in your browser settings.

Joining our email list stores your address so we can send product news. Any marketing email we send goes only to people who signed up, will identify us as the sender, and will include a working unsubscribe option that we honor promptly, as the CAN-SPAM Act requires. You can also leave the list any time by emailing support@bisonflex.org. Order confirmations and shipping updates are not marketing and go to everyone who buys.

When you join the list we also record your address as a subscribed customer in Shopify, which sends our emails, and, if you have not ordered before, we create a one-time first-order discount code tied to that address. Shopify records whether and when the code is used, which we need to apply the one-code-per-person rule. We store that code and its expiry in our own database alongside your address.

You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or send you a copy. Email support@bisonflex.org from the address tied to your order or signup and we will verify the request and respond within 45 days.

Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Virginia, and other states with privacy laws have these rights by statute. We honor the same requests from everyone, in every state. We will never treat you differently for exercising a privacy right. Because we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act, there is nothing to opt out of, but you can still email us with any privacy request.

If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision with the word appeal, and we will respond within 45 days with the outcome and our reasons. If the appeal is denied, you may contact your state attorney general. You may also use an authorized agent to submit a request for you. We will ask the agent for proof that you gave them permission and may still verify your identity directly.

Order records are kept as long as tax, accounting, and dispute rules require. Account details, order history, and points are kept while your account exists; email us to close it and we delete the account and forfeit any unused points. Email list addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Support threads are kept as long as needed to resolve the issue and improve our answers.

We limit access to personal information, use encrypted connections on this site, and rely on Shopify's PCI-compliant systems for payments. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but if we learn of a breach affecting your information we will notify you as the law requires.

This site sells food, not services for children, and it is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child gave us information, email us and we will delete it.

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new date at the top. Meaningful changes will also be called out in an email if we have your address.
